Help & Education

Answers and resources for aviators

Quick FAQs for common questions, plus short guides to help you decide with confidence.

I’m a new private owner—what coverage do I need?
Most owners choose agreed value hull plus liability sized to their assets/mission, with optional passenger coverage and endorsements as needed.
Do I need renter’s (non-owned) insurance if the FBO has coverage?
Yes—FBO policies protect the business first. Non-owned policies protect you for liability and often provide legal defense.
I’m low time—will that hurt my premium?
Early on, premiums can be higher. Recurrent training, IR, and time-in-type usually help improve pricing over time.
How fast can I get proof of insurance (COI)?
After binding, we can issue certificates of insurance quickly—tell us if your airport or client needs to be listed as additional insured.
Are experimental, vintage, or LSA aircraft eligible?
Many are—availability and pricing depend on the airframe, usage, and pilot experience. We’ll match you with the right market.
Can I fly internationally or to Mexico?
Often yes—share your territory and we’ll include the right endorsements and limits.
What limits are typical?
Private owners often start with $1M liability (various passenger sublimits). Commercial uses may require higher limits; we’ll outline options.
Can I list a lienholder, landlord, or client?
Yes—add additional insureds and lienholders at binding or any time; we’ll issue updated COIs.
How is hull value handled?
Policies are usually written on an agreed value basis—know your current market value and update as needed.
